Organic Alberta & Gateway Research Organization: 2022 Conference

Alberta's most important organic and low-input agriculture event! Gather with us to reconnect, network, celebrate, and learn together.

About this event

It's here: our first-ever Summer conference! This year, Organic Alberta is partnering with Gateway Research Organization (GRO) to bring you a fun-filled 2-day event packed with learning, industry networking, and socializing opportunities at the Heritage Park Pavilion in Stony Plain, AB. We are shaking up our usual routine with this new Summer format and bringing you some exciting new ways to learn, as well as old favourites.

Join us on Friday, July 8th for a hands-on day where you'll be able to explore the Stony Plain & Parkland Pioneer Museum with a guided tour, hop on our bus for a tour of GRO's research trial plots, and visit the trade show exhibitors and equipment displays. In the evening we'll have feasting, entertainment, and a cash bar!

Saturday, July 9th will have two inspiring keynote speakers and a producer panel to discuss how agriculture has grown since the past, the strengths and challenges of where we are today, and how organic, regenerative, and low-input practices can help us build a sustainable and thriving future on the land! The trade show will give you a chance to re-connect with industry experts, find out about new products and services, and check out some equipment all in one place. There will also be tons of opportunities to glean practical and regionally applicable details at the trade show Learning Stations, where several of Alberta's Applied Research Associations will have conventional and organic extension experts and researchers presenting on topics like soil health, cover crops, and much more.

It is going to be so much fun to see you all in person again! We've had some excellent online events, but we've missed connecting "in real life" and we know you're all itching to catch up with old friends and make new connections. If you're new to organics, or just interested in getting to know more fellow innovative producers, Organic Alberta's annual conference is the best place to make new friends and find other farmers and ag supporters who are eager to explore new ways of feeding the world. So get yourself over to the tickets page and register now!

We'll be releasing more details on our conference webpage over the next few weeks, so check back here for more info on speakers, topics, accommodations, and trade show exhibitors. There will also be childcare options available so you can bring the whole family.
